About the event
I'm passionate about how birth, postpartum, and motherhood are represented in books, media, and entertainment. For SO long, it's been nowhere close to reality and often perpetuates harmful myths. Occasionally, though, you discover ancient gems, like Charlotte Perkins Gilman's incredible short story, The Yellow Wallpaper, our first book club pick. And even better, you discover a modern and altogether bizarre mythological novel that somehow captures the very essence of it, like Nightbitch, our second book club pick. Even better that these two books/stories are connected, that one perhaps inspired the other, and those intersections make my giddy! Let's meet, discuss, analyze, celebrate, laugh, and altogether enjoy our time together.
