Allow me to share the Bhava Birth "birth story"
In 2013, I was pregnant with my third baby sitting in a yoga teacher training, when everything changed—the way I lived, and certainly the way I gave birth. I was rebodying. What started as a personal healing journey evolved into teaching prenatal yoga classes, leading couples workshops, and eventually authoring the comprehensive Bhava Birth course. It then expanded into doula services, the Birth Mystics podcast, personal mentoring, and a variety of private therapeutic sessions.
Birth was a catalyst in my life. It brought me home into my body, my personal power, and my dharma. It exposed my suppressed pain and trauma and gave me a choice—let it go or stuff it back in? I let it go, and my life was never the same. I see birth as a microcosm of life, in all of its beautiful messiness. Yes, I love birth, but I'm equally passionate about rebirth—supporting, sustaining, and nurturing a new generation of women who are awake, alert, and fully alive. Birth can be an awakening if you want it to be. I can't wait to be your guide.

Hear about someone else who's walked this path
Bhava Birth attracts first time parents as well as seasoned ones. One cherished client was pregnant with her third baby. She was feeling pretty good about things until about week 30. That was when she started having flashbacks to her last delivery—all of her past birth trauma had surfaced. She wanted so desperately to have a better experience this time, but she was starting to feel doomed to repeat history. She had taken several birth classes in the past, read half a dozen books, and listened to a few birth podcasts. But even after all of that preparation, she ended up transferring to a hospital after a "failed" home birth. She wasn't interested in learning any more methods—she just wanted to feel capable and believe in herself again.
When she found Bhava Birth, she was immediately drawn to the mindset coaching and the concept that the journey mattered as much as the destination. At the retreat, she learned simple ways to process her birth trauma, to shift her mindset away from rigid birth labels, and how to focus on positive emotional outcomes no matter how her birth story played out. She also booked several mentoring sessions so that we could go deeper into her unique story.
She went on to have a beautiful and sacred birth experience in which she felt supported, seen, and heard. There were a few surprises along the way, but amazingly, she didn't feel traumatized by any of it. She knew that those timely interventions were happening for her, with her consent, not to her or against her will. She realized for herself that empowerment in birth wasn't about having everything be "perfect," but rather about having a voice, showing up, and feeling supported. She couldn't believe how alive and awake she felt after giving birth, or that she could feel so happy about a birth that others might label "less than ideal."
