Do you work for or own your own yoga studio? Do you currently offer, or hope to offer, prenatal and postpartum classes? The Bodhi Birth instructor training is a three-day retreat overflowing with information, hands-on teaching, yoga, community, and opportunities for personal growth. Once you have completed the course requirements and attended the full retreat, you will be qualified to teach the Bodhi Birth Course in your own town or local yoga studio! 


What are the prerequisites to apply for the Bodhi Birth Course Instructor certification?

  • You must be a 200-Hour Certified Yoga teacher with qualifications to teach Prenatal Yoga (which most 200-Hour programs include)

  • BONUS, but not required: Birth or Postpartum Doula training/certification, Childbirth Educator training/certification 


What is the cost for certification and retreat enrollment, and what is included?

  • Total cost for BOTH certification & retreat attendance: $1,295.00

  • Includes all materials: detailed Instructor Manual and tote bag, as well as sample student curriculum set (manual, laminated labor guides, & 4 CD kit)

  • Includes Online support: access to online Teacher Module which contains bonus teaching content and resources, as well as membership in private FB group for Bodhi Birth Instructors

  • Includes Food & Lodging: whole food, plant-based meals and 3 days/2 nights stay at the beautiful Aspenwood Manor in Provo, Utah 

What does the retreat entail?​​​

  • Specific training in meditation methods, pranayama techniques, hands-on labor support, prenatal/postpartum yoga modifications, and yoga philosophy for Childbirth, etc.

  • General childbirth education including: anatomy, evidence based research on common interventions, settings for birth, etc.

  • How to conduct retreats, workshops, classes, and private sessions

  • Marketing training and support

  • Breastfeeding education from an IBCLC

  • and lots, lots more!


What are the requirements to complete my certification?

  • Attendance at the full 3-day retreat

  • Completed reading list (emailed to you upon enrollment)

  • Attending two live births (when possible)

  • Passing final exam (taken in person at the end of the retreat)


What will I be qualified to teach upon completion of my certification?

  • The full Bodhi Birth Course, which can be held as a 6-Week Course, or a Weekend Retreat

  • Prenatal Couples Workshops, typically 3-hours of teaching hands-on labor support, upright labor positions, and basic pranayama (a great way to introduce couples to the full Bodhi Birth approach and get more enrollees into your full course)

  • Private one-on-one sessions, teaching individual techniques from the course (ie: meditation, pranayama, hands-on labor support, etc.)

  • Enhancement to your existing weekly prenatal and postpartum yoga classes, with more techniques, hands-on adjustments and gentle modifications

  • Only persons holding current certification with Bodhi Birth may use the registered trade name Bodhi Birth and the logo in promotional and teaching materials.

What is required to keep my certification active?

  • Certified Instructors must renew their certification annually. This includes:

    • 2 Credits of Continuing Education (ie: suggested reading or extra trainings) 

    • Recommitting to the Code of Ethics & Standards of Practice (signing said forms)

    • Submit all Class Reports (notes from each of your events that you hosted that year)

    • $100 renewal fee 

    • Option to attend the annual Bodhi Birth alumni retreat for $250 (the $100 fee can be applied toward retreat cost)

Once I'm certified, how do I begin teaching?

  • Announce and market the Bodhi Birth Course in your local area or yoga studio

  • Acquire the Bodhi Birth curriculum at wholesale cost for any of the events you have scheduled

  • Host the events and maintain 100% of the proceeds
